Aine Smith is an attorney in the Business and Insurance team at White & Co Attorneys and Consultants, Dallas, Texas. Before moving to Texas she practiced as a lawyer in a mid-size civil litigation law firm in Rockville, Maryland, gaining both litigation and transactional experience. In addition to general civil litigation experience Aine represented the Employer and Insurer in workers compensation cases before the District of Columbia Department of Employment Services and the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission.
In the transactional arena, Aine provided counsel regarding various corporate matters, including the formation and dissolution of business entities. She conducted due diligence for a leading wireless provider, providing counsel regarding corporate compliance, release/exclusion/payoff of active liens, tax clearances, and bulk sales compliance. Her transactional experience also involved the drafting of amendments to contracts, indemnification agreements, escrow agreements, closing documents, and recommending revisions to asset purchase agreements.
Ms. Smith attended law school at The University of San Diego School of Law, She served as a Student Comments Editor for the San Diego International Law Journal and her comment was chosen for publication: “Child Labor: The Pakistani Effort to End the Scourge Upon Humanity, Is it Enough?”. While in law school, Ms. Smith interned for the Honorable Thomas J. Whelan, U.S. District Court, Southern District of California.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Smith was an assistant coach/skills coach for Texas Spirit 81 and a secondary educator, teaching U.S. and World History to high school students and Texas History and LEAP to junior high students.
Ms. Smith earned her B.A. at Grinnell College. While at Grinnell, she played NCAA soccer.
